GKS 2.0 became mandatory on July 1, 2026, for new hospitality businesses subject to the registered cash register system. Existing users have a transition period. The official schedule identifies three groups, based on the date the current cash register was purchased.
If you are starting a new business and are subject to the GKS requirement, you must immediately opt for GKS 2.0. Both the point-of-sale system and the tax data module must be GKS 2.0-certified.
Plan for registration, delivery, networking, and training well in advance of the opening date.

The Federal Public Service Finance states that, if multiple cash registers have been purchased, the date of the most recent purchase applies. The purchase date of the fiscal data module is not used to determine the transition deadline.

The migration includes point-of-sale software, FDM, hardware, payment terminals, data, registration, and training. Integrations with printers, the kitchen, Scrada, or other systems must also be revalidated.
